Evettes hut is located at 2594 meters of altitude in the French Alps, close to the Italian border. The ice site of the refuge is exceptional and, despite its apparent withdrawal, the Evettes glacier remains nearby. The first hut of 1907 was burnt in 1940. The current hut was built in 1971 with one of the first solar panel installation in an isolated site, which is still functional.
The hut is guarded from mid-March to mid-May and from mid-June to mid-September with a capacity for 64 people. Outside this guarded periods, it offers 20 beds. The hut will be completly rebuilt in the forthcoming years.
